The UK’s largest airport operator, Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has appointed Catherine Bailey as Chief People Officer. The new role will sit on MAG’s ExCo and report directly into Chief Executive Charlie Cornish.

Cath Bailey has held a number of senior HR positions throughout her career, including at Barclays and Kelloggs. Most recently, she was Vice President, HR for Avon’s Commercial Business globally during a period of significant transformation.

As the UK’s largest airport operator, MAG owns Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands airports, as well as its USA business and technology and e-commerce arm MAG-O, which together employ around 7,000 people directly, with tens of thousands employed across the sites.

Cath Bailey is expected to join the business in September.

Cath Bailey said:

“I am incredibly excited to be joining MAG at this time. I am looking forward to being part of the next chapter, working together with the MAG Team to support the communities and customers we serve. I am passionate about creating an environment where people can learn and grow and I am looking forward to building on the great MAG culture that already exists.”

MAG Chief Executive, Charlie Cornish, said:

“At the heart of every successful business is its people, and no more is that the case than across the MAG family. These are uncertain times for our industry, but by harnessing the talent and commitment that exists across the organisation I am confident we will be well placed to face the challenges and opportunities of the future.

“I am delighted to be welcoming Cath to MAG at a critical time for our business. The experience she brings in fostering positive company cultures and developing talent will ensure MAG is well placed to build on our success in recent years, both in delivering a great experience for our customers and being a great place to work.”
