MAG welcomed 5.5m passengers in April
- 66.3m passengers chose a MAG airport across the last 12 months, 1.5% increase year-on-year
- Monthly passenger numbers at East Midlands and London Stansted Airport were up increasing by 5.5% and 2.6% respectively year-on-year
- Operational performance remained strong across all three airports
Manchester Airports Group (MAG) served 5.5m passengers in April, a 0.6% increase on the same month in 2025.
The Group – which owns Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands airports - had a rolling 12-month passenger total of 66.3m passengers, an increase of 1.5% year-on-year.
Reflective of ongoing situation in the Middle East, 2.6m passengers travelled through Manchester Airport in April – down 2.6% on the same month last year. The airport’s rolling 12-month total stood at 32.3m passengers, up 2.7% year-on-year.
Owing to its extensive European network 2.6m passengers travelled through London Stansted in April - a 3.2% increase on the same month last year. Its rolling 12-month passenger total was 30.1m passengers, a 0.5% increase.
East Midlands welcomed more than 337,000 passengers in April, a 5.5% increase year-on-year. The rolling 12-month total of 4m passengers was a slight decrease of 0.6% year-on-year. The Airport handled more than 34,000 tonnes of cargo across the month, up 24% on the same month last year.
All three airports saw strong operational performance across April. At London Stansted 100% of passengers passed through security in 15 minutes or less. At Manchester Airport and East Midlands, the figure was 99%.
