MAG served 4.2m passengers during record February
- Group had a rolling total of 64.8m passengers
- Both Manchester and London Stansted celebrated a record February
- Manchester Airport served more than 31m passengers in a 12-month period for the first time in its history
Manchester Airports Group (MAG) served 4.2 million passengers in February, an increase of 4.1% from the same month in 2024.
The rolling 12-month passenger total for Group—which operates Manchester, London Stansted, and East Midlands airports—was 64.8m in the year to February 2025, up 6.7%.
Manchester and London Stansted both celebrated a record February, serving more than 2m each for the first time across the month.
Manchester Airport’s passenger numbers increased by 5.9% year-on-year, with the North’s global gateway seeing its rolling 12-month passenger total surpass 31m passengers for the first time in its history. London Stansted saw a passenger increase of 4.8% on February 2024. That resulted in February also being a record-breaking month for MAG as a whole.
East Midlands Airport rolling 12-month total increased by 0.8% year-on-year, with it serving more than 4m passengers across the 12 months to February 2025. The airport, which has the largest pure freight operation of any UK airport, carried more than 31,000 tonnes of cargo across the month, up 10.6% compared to the same month in 2024.
Operational performance continued to be strong across the Group with 99% of passengers passing through security in 15 minutes or less at Manchester and East Midlands Airports. The figure was 98% at London Stansted.
