MAG February 2021 Traffic Statistics
- MAG served 97.0% fewer passengers in February 2021 as restrictions on non-essential travel are set to remain until at least May.

With non-essential travel banned under national lockdown restrictions and the introduction of 10 days hotel quarantine for passengers arriving from 33 ‘red list countries’, MAG served 97.0% fewer passengers in February 2021 compared to the same month last year. The figure matches those seen during both previous national lockdowns. MAG’s rolling 12-month total was also down 86.9% on February 2020.
Traffic is expected to stay at a similarly low level until at least May, as the Government considers a recovery roadmap for the aviation industry. The Government’s Global Travel Taskforce is due to publish a report on 12th April with recommendations as to how international travel might resume from 17th May 2021.
East Midlands and London Stansted’s cargo operations both performed well throughout February, with loads up 23.6% and 51.9% respectively.
