Busy half-term serves up a record October for MAG

  • MAG welcomed 5.9m passengers in October
  • MAG’s rolling 12-month total was 65.8m passengers
  • Operational performance remained strong during the busy period  

Manchester Airports Group (MAG) recorded its busiest ever October – serving 5.9m passengers across the month, an increase of 1.1% year-on-year.  

MAG – which operates Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands Airports – also had a rolling 12-month total of 65.8m passengers, a 2.9% increase year-on-year.  

Manchester Airport celebrated two full years of record monthly performances in October, serving 2.9m passengers across the month. This was a 2.3% increase on the same month in 2024. The airport’s rolling 12-month total increased by 5.1% year-on-year, standing at 31.9m passengers.  

London Stansted’s extensive European network saw the airport welcome 2.7m passengers through its terminal in October. That was a 0.2% increase year-on-year, and a record for the month. The airport’s rolling 12-month total was 29.9m passengers, a 1.9% increase compared to last year. 

East Midlands, the UK’s largest pure freight airport, handled more than 38,000 tonnes of cargo across the month, a 21.7% increase on October 2024. More than 393,000 passengers used the airport in October, a slight decrease of 1.8% year-on-year.   

Operational performance remained strong as the airports welcomed passengers across the month. At all three airports, 99% of passengers passed through security in 15 minutes or less.
