Almost 6m passengers used a MAG airport in May as summer takes off
MAG saw 5.9 m passengers pass through its airports in May, up 9% year-on year as families made the most of half term get aways.
The figures across MAG – which owns and operates Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands Airports – were equal to 104% of passenger numbers seen in May 2019.
Manchester Airport once again had a record breaking month, serving 2.8m passengers, up 11% year-on- year. London Stansted also recorded its busiest ever May, welcoming 2.7m passengers across the month, a figure which was up 6.4% on May 2023.
Both Airport’s traffic was equal to 106% of passengers served in May 2019.
East Midlands Airport served more than 400,000 passengers across May, up 10.5% year on year, and equal to 87% of traffic in May 2019.
Operational performance across the Group remains strong as it enters the peak summer period with 99% of passengers at Manchester Airport passing through security in 15 minutes or less, with the figure standing at 97% at London Stansted and 100% at East Midlands Airport.
